All writing center services are free of charge to students and faculty.

Trained writing consultants are available in the writing center for both walk-in and scheduled appointments every Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Fridays, from 9 a.m. to noon. Many online appointments are available during these hours as well.

New this term: An after-hours consultant is available throughout the semester for both walk-in and scheduled appointments in the bottom floor of Carmichael Library every Monday and Thursday, from 5 to 8 p.m. A few online appointments are available during extended hours.

For additional information, visit the Harbert Writing Center webpage or email Dr. Cynthia Mwenja. To make an appointment, go to montevallo.mywconline.com. Though appointments are not necessary, they do ensure that a consultant is available for you.

Forte Festival Announcement

The annual Forte Festival of Creativity will be on hiatus this spring due to the upcoming move of the COFA dean’s offices in mid-April and the Department of Theatre in early May to the new Center for the Arts. Continuing the festival in April this year is not feasible due to the confluence of packing, relocating offices and managing everything else on the academic and performance calendars in April. Nevertheless, we still have productions of Hairspray, the Pattin Piano Concert and a BFA Gallery show running in the Forte slot. We intend to revive Forte next academic year! Thanks for your understanding.
