A Montevallo Choral Christmas
On Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 7:30 p.m., immerse yourself in the warm sound of sacred and secular Christmas music as performed by UM’s acclaimed Concert Choir and the Festival Brass Quintet at the American Village. Set within the austere beauty of the Lucille Ryals Colonial Chapel, this evening of traditional arrangements is the perfect way to recall the charm and true magic of the holiday season.
Tickets will be sold at the door, cash or checks only: $10 adults; $5 UM faculty/staff/senior citizens; $5 students.
Montevallo Christmas Parade
The Montevallo Chamber of Commerce presents the Montevallo Christmas Parade on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 6 p.m. with the 2nd annual tree lighting at 5:30 p.m. Join the festivities on Main Street to kick off the holiday season!
After the parade, follow Santa to Montevallo Elementary School for the opportunity to visit with Santa and take your own photos. MES will also have a silent auction along with dinner options starting at 7 p.m.
TRIO Upward Bound Christmas Tree
In celebration of the season, TRIO Upward Bound is pleased to offer their annual tree fundraiser with “Joy and Happiness — A Christmas Tradition,” a fully decorated, 7-foot, Duncan fir, pre-lit with multi-colored lights.
Because of generous donations and discounts from JoAnn Fabrics, Michael’s, Hobby Lobby in Hoover and Home Depot in Pelham, the TRIO Upward Bound Programs are able to again offer an opportunity for one lucky ticket holder to take home this fully decorated tree — with all the trimmings. Each $1 donation that you make to the University of Montevallo TRIO Upward Bound Programs Scholarship Foundation will enter your name for a chance to win.
Tickets may be purchased from a TRIO Upward Bound student or by contacting the TRIO Upward Bound Office at 205-665-6268. The drawing for the “Joy and Happiness — a Christmas Tradition” tree will be Dec. 4. The winner will be contacted on Dec. 5 so they can take it home to enjoy for the holidays!
Counseling Services Christmas Tree Food Drive
In this season of giving, join Counseling Services in collecting items for the UM food pantry. The Christmas tree in Farmer Hall is decorated with ornaments that contain a sticker on the back assigning an item to donate to the pantry. All donations should be delivered to Counseling Services located in the lower level of Main Hall by Dec. 7.
