Living and Sustaining a Creative Life
Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 2 p.m., via Zoom
Sharon Louden is an active artist and passionate advocate for artists. The author of two critically acclaimed books, “Living and Sustaining a Creative Life: Essays by 40 Working Artists” and “The Artist as Culture Producer: Living and Sustaining a Creative Life,” she wants to foster a community of artists who seek the well-being of each other. She reminds artists and non-creatives alike that artists are integral to society, that their paths through life are varied, rich and important. As Louden points out, contrary to stereotypes, artists aren’t hidden away working, they are on the front lines of education, the nonprofit sector and corporate environments where they provide measurable and innovative outcomes.
Please join us for what will be an inspiring, uplifting and stimulating talk. This event is hosted by the UM Art Department and is a part of the Martha Allen Lecture Series on Art. Register here.
