Group of University Representatives to Study Campus Building Names

Following consultation with Board of Trustees leadership, University of Montevallo President Dr. John W. Stewart III has appointed 11 Montevallo leaders to a trustee-led exploratory, working group to review the names of buildings on the UM campus. Upon completion of their work, the group may recommend possible changes or offer suggestions to the University’s full Board of Trustees. The working group’s goal is to report at the Aug. 7 Board of Trustees meeting.

Stewart formed the working group in response to recent discourse on social media expressing concerns over the names of some buildings around the country and on the UM campus. Read more about the individuals appointed to this working group.

Data security has become even more important during the current situation. To handle forms electronically, UM has been using Dynamic Forms since 2017, which has been vetted for security and ADA compliance. This application provides a simple way for non-technical users to take simple or complex forms and build an electronic version. Features include capturing signatures, workflows, approvals and many others. Join one of the live sessions to discover the ways Dynamic Forms can benefit your department. IS&T will host sessions Tuesday, June 30 at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Questions or concerns regarding Dynamic Forms can be directed to UM Web Applications Administrator Gabriel Martires.
