Closing Words:

In closing, I want to take a minute to give a word of thanks to the entire Westburne Church family.  Recently, Dea and I had lunch with two young couples from Brock University.  We asked them why they had chosen to attend here and they said because of the way they were welcomed, greeted and accepted.  Thank you to the greeter and ushers for the way they faithfully serve but I know this is a ministry that we can all have.

I love the way that the church is decorated throughout the year but especially at Christmas.  Thank you to Melodie and Stephanie and for the many others who have assisted them.  Your service is appreciated and it does not go unnoticed.

Last Sunday night, we had a great potluck dinner and thank you so much for all the work the hospitality crew did with the set up, meal-serving and clean up.  Then we had an incredible time as we enjoyed the reading of Charles Dickens, "A Christmas Carol."  (I think I found myself a whole bunch of readers for our Sunday morning services)  Thank you to each person who took part in this--your joy in being a part of this was so evident!

As our calendar year draws near to its end, thank you Westburne church family for your faithfulness in giving to God's church both locally and globally.  Let us continue to give cheerfully and generously out of all the blessings God has given to each of us.

Finally, and this really is the place that our thanks needs to begin at:  Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!  2 Corinthians 9:15  His name is Jesus!

Have a great week!
