The Week Ahead at Westburne…
Take a few minutes to check out our church website and see what is happening this week at Westburne and in the days ahead.
This Sunday, January 10th,  we will be celebrating Communion together.  As we continue through our week of prayer, let us come prepared to share what we have heard God saying to us-it might be a bible verse, a promise that you have been given and claimed or an answered prayer.  Let us build each other up during this time of sharing!

OUR HOPE 2016!
'HOPE'...Don't Let Go!"

Let us grow in Christ and go with Christ in 2016.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.  Romans 15:13

Thank you for helping to fill the barrel during the Christmas season.
We will be filling the barrel again during at Easter.

Come, Holy Spirit,

Spirit of the Risen Christ, be with us today and always.
Be our Light, our Guide, and our Comforter.
Be our Strength, our Courage, and our Sanctifier.
May this new year be a time of deep spiritual growth for us,
A time of welcoming your graces and gifts,
A time for forgiving freely and unconditionally,
A time for growing in virtue and goodness.

Come, Holy Spirit,
Be with us today and always. Amen.

Closing Words:

Last Sunday morning as I sat and watched the Billy Graham MY HOPE dvd "Value of a Soul", I kept thinking about the word "CHOOSE".

All three of the main characters came to a point in their lives when they had to choose.  Three lives that were riddled with hurt, pain, anger and emptiness had to choose to either carry on down that path or reach out to the God who could bring them healing, comfort, purpose and meaning.

As a Christ-follower, I remember making a decision to choose to accept the love of God.  I chose to stop running my life the way I wanted to live it and to stop running from the God who was pursuing me with His love.

As an act of my own free will, I accepted the invitation to receive Jesus as my Saviour and to make Him Lord of my life.  Daily I still have to make choices, we all do.  We always told our children to make good choices.

Let us "CHOOSE" to follow Jesus, desire to become more like Him and allow His Holy Spirit to use us to reach out to those who do not know Jesus.

"CHOOSE" to live a life that extends the same love and mercy and grace to others that Jesus has extended to us.

Have a great day!
