Thousands of people and families where devastated in St Maarten after hurricane Irma and have lost everything. The island was hit the hardest of all. Wind gusts nearing 200MPH. What remains today is a tragedy. These people work primarily in the tourism industry. It is unlikely they will be able to fully support themselves for at least several months, if not longer. That is why our support is so necessary. I believe the best way to support them is through the help of local people, they will help their people and not profit from it. I have chosen to help The Rohan and Lake families who have lived on St. Maarten for over 6 decades. Their grandmother, now 82, and her seven sisters built beautiful homes on the island that were shared by their families now severely damaged. I will coordinate with Annmarie Henderson to drop off the donations. The shipping container will leave in about 3 weeks. We would also like to send a second container in a few months, if the donations continue. If you prefer to give me money, I will go to the Dollar Store and purchase as many items as possible. Thank you for reading this email. Geralyne Lewandowski
