KZNLGA LADIES INTER CLUB 2018
We were all so very thrilled and excited at PSCC to have hosted this prestigious event at our Club last week. Records were set in bar turnover and golf rounds. This was a really good tournament for our club with top class golf and great camaraderie amongst our players of which we can be very proud. This was also the KZNLGA's Centenary year.
On Wednesday last week the 24th of October the registration of Interclub took place as well as the Tree Planting Ceremony which was a token of appreciation from KZNLGA for the use and exclusivity of the course during this tournament. The chosen tree for this ceremony was the Cape Chestnut.

All our caddies looked very professional in their new PSCC bibs and they were very efficient in all their assistance they gave to the players out on the field during the tourament. Thanks guys !!
On the final day of play on Saturday there was so much excitement and support on the 18th as all the teams made their way home. Our Sheppie ladies played brilliantly well and we at PSCC are so proud of them all.
It was truly an honour to see all the great support for the various teams on the final day of play. The weather was superb and we could not have asked for a better tournament at our club.
There was great excitement when Erica Millican from Umhlali Country Club scored a hole in one on the 17th .. Post from Erica Millican's Facebook Page here below …
"Note to self - have a hole in 1 when nearly 250 people are watching. It felt like I had just won the Ryder Cup #portshepstone17th"
Seen here below (on the right) is legendary senior golfer Judith Paterson from the Durban Country Club who not only has represented South Africa in the past with many top golf tournaments, but still today is involved in competitive golf and plays in the Golf Division. She is seen here with Erica Millican from Umhlali Country Club.
The prize giving and awards ceremony was held on Saturday evening and the theme for this years event was "Olympics" and each team had to dress according to one of the Olympic colours. Thanks to The Clubhouse Café and Dean Margison and his staff for the excellent dinner that was served. The magnificent décor for the night was done by Jenny Vogt, Beryl Olden and Liana Klopper. Thank you ladies for all your beautiful contributions towards the evening.

PSCC DO THEMSELVES PROUD AT INTER-CLUB 2018.
The Men have also just completed their Interclub last weekend.
PSCC had 3 teams in namely "B" Division, Frogs and Senior Frogs.
The Frog team this year were not as fortunate as they have been in the past and alas did not make it through to the final day on Sunday.
However, the B Division and the Senior Frogs were more fortuitous, in spite of the really blustery and overcast weather conditions they had to endure, so did manage to go through to the final stage on Sunday. Read on to see how the two teams performed.
The team consisted of Daan Swanepoel, Santhos Baskali and Andrew Maree.
They finished 6th out of 50 teams after the first and second day's play therefore qualified for the Alliance section of the Sunday morning Final (whereby the top 10 went through). Resulting in the guys ending up 3rd overall. A most commendable effort.
Comprised of Graham Fabricius, Sanjay Singh and Kirk Larsen.
They were in 4th place out of 21 teams after the completion of the second round, therefore qualifying for the Matchplay finals on Sunday at Southbroom Golf Club.
On Sunday morning they beat Margate Country Club in the Semi Finals (all
3 players winning their matches).
This progressed them into the Sunday afternoon Final against Royal Durban Golf Club which went right down to the wire. The outcome of normal play was Won 1, Lost 1 and Halved 1. So a Sudden Death Play-Off ensued and a Hallelujah uphill, curling putt of 20+ feet on the first extra hole by the Royal Durban player clinched the match for them!
Thus PSCC are the Runners-Up of the B Division Inter-Club Tournament for 2018. An excellent effort by all accounts and something they can be truly proud of. Well Done everyone!!! Editorial - Supplied: Ken Morris
