Greetings to you all Members, Visitors & Friends . . .

We all had another fabulously festive Friday evening down at the Club this last weekend. Many thanks to those of you who supported the Pub Lucky Draws on Friday evening. R2100 will be up for grabs this coming Friday. The draw was lost to Chase Britz this last week.

Thanks to our Music Maestro DJ "Stoppy" for keeping us entertained on Friday evening and also for playing music for us after the Club Fundraiser on Saturday. 

Our Club 100 Draw will also be starting up again soon.  There are not many tickets left available to enter for this draw and tickets cost R120 for the year.  Tickets can be purchased from our Club Reception if you are interested. 

Thanks to our wonderful sponsors for once again making our Friday evenings so special with the Pub prizes.  This week the "Mystery Prize" sponsored by Ideal Homes - Umtentweni was won by Fred Southwell. The bottle of Whiskey sponsored by Tails Up - Port Shepstone was won by Noel Pieterse.

The Cellar API Cup, which is our Club's version of the US PGA's FedEx Cup will be held again next month on the 5th of March.  R120 once off fee is required to enter and YOU may still enter into this.

Our Business Day Golf took place this past Friday the 12th of February and was very kindly sponsored by Johann & Petra du Plessis from Roll a Fold.

Our Course is also looking in excellent, fine condition at the moment despite the hot and very dry conditions.  Well done to Jesse Verster & his team for all their efforts in keeping our Golf Course in such a great condition. Many thanks to all of you as well who joined in on the day.

See some social photo's below from after the golf on Friday afternoon.  Below left you will see the "Jaws Truly" team who are on tour at the moment, and they were seen at our Club on Friday as well.  This team 31 years ago played their very first game here at our Club and they return every so often to support us.
Club Golf Fundraiser - Saturday 13th February!!

Many thanks to those of you who supported our Club fundraiser on Saturday. It was a great event with good support from our Members and other local Visitors to our Club.

A special thanks to the Convenor Liana Kloppers and her team of ladies, for all their efforts in putting this golf day together as well as for organising the prizes.

Thanks to all the sponsors of the prizes which mainly came from the organising team themselves, as well as thanks to Saffron Chefs for the vouchers and also... to Jane Lind for the lovely bottles of Port. Thanks to DJ "Stoppy" our music maestro for keeping us all entertained with his music, as well as compiling those special CD's for the winners.

The Lucky Draw Chocolate Cake was won by Nicole New who then donated it back to the section. It was then auctioneed and sold to the highest bidder which was Jimmy Parsons.

Valentine Bowls Competition - Sunday 14th February!!

We had approximately 36 players that participated in all different hues of red and white to celebrate Valentine's day. There were lots of competitions within the main competition and other novelty games as well as prizes for the best dressed.

The format was 2 games of trips over 10 ends with the one game being skipped by a Lady and the other a man.

The winners of the main competition were Philip Geyer, Lesley Lancaster and Kevin Lancaster. The runners up were Murray... Ross, Gill Thiele and Howard Frizelle.

The best dressed lady was Winnie Hess and the best dressed man John Hove. They both looked great and it must be mentioned that John won it last year as well.

The nearest in the Battle of the Bottle was Kevin Lancaster winning a bottle of Champers. The runner up was Glen Douglass who won a cap.

The most toucher prize was shared by Daphne Hansell and Glen Douglass each with eight.

The lucky draw winners prizes were generously sponsored by Winnie Hess and winners were Julie Ross, Julia Peacock, Dave Price, Lesley Lancaster, Johnny Guy, Caroline Harris and Kathy Simpson.

Our sincere thanks to all those who made it possible and for those who particpated. Once again thanks to our most generous sponsors for making it happen!!

Valentine Sunday Lunch Celebrations & Winston Smile!!

We all had a fabulously festive party down at the Club to celebrate Valentines Day on Sunday.  Many thanks to Winston Smile for his excellent performance that got the crowd roaring.  His rendition of the "Bohemian Rhapsody" was once again a hit and thoroughly enjoyed by all!!

Thanks to Carrie Pieterse, our dedicated and very calm Club Manager for ensuring  that there was a smooth flow to the day, and also to all our Bar staff and waitresses who once again did a superb job in keeping everyone happy and well watered and fed for the afternoon.  We also had another Menu from Saffron Chefs that was flavoured to perfection which was a great choice for our diners and heartily enjoyed by all so a big shout out and thanks to our Chefs for that.

Also thanks to the Port Shepstone Country Club and also Hulley, Van Wyk & Garrun for rising to the occasion and for assisting and being the sponsors of our Lucky Draw Valentine Prizes.

Last of all but definitely not the least . . . a big thank you to June Surtees-Myers for organising and hosting a lovely wine tasting for us on Sunday and for also sponsoring the great free gifts for our patrons that supported the Club.

Friday & Sundays LIVE Music & Entertainment!!

Andy Els" will be entertaining us at the Club this coming Friday evening and Derick Jackson will be returning on Sunday to entertain the crowds, so please book your table for Sunday Lunch early in the week to secure your spot.

Saffron Chefs with their excellent priced menu will be available on Friday evenings for Dinner as well. 

Let's not forget that the braai fires will be lit as usual on Friday night, and your braai meat, salads and rolls can be purchased from your waitress.

Treasure Hunt Fun - Friday late afternoon!!

We had a very well supported Treasure Hunt on Friday afternoon down at the Club and we had lots of "happy hunters" who entered into this.

A few containers were hidden around the golf course and the clubhouse, and the containers contained secret codes and words.  Maps indicating location of hidden containers were available for a small fee of R2.00.  Small prizes were awarded to those who could crack the code.

Our Business Day Bowls Challenge this coming Friday will be very kindly sponsored by Riversmead Poultry Farm.

Riversmead Poultry Farm is a family owned poultry farm that has been in business since 1944.

Riversmead Poultry Farm distributes through most of the Kwa Zulu Natal region, and has become a household name in KZN.

Paul Apostolides the owner of Riversmead Poultry Farm says farming is a passion and believes in producing a quality product.
Riversmead chickens are not kept in cages, but rather in well ventilated sheds.  They have strict quality standards that get adhered to, and they are proud to say that they have recently been awarded the ISO 22000 accreditation.

They unfortunately do not supply directly to the public but do have their product  which can be found in several of the “Local” supermarkets and as far up as Durban and up to Empangeni and Pietermaritzburg as well.

These group of young surfers will be having their golf day at our Club on the 27th of February to raise funds for their tour.

All these children have enormous surfing talent and ability and they will representing our Coast & District at this event.

Is there anyone out there who could possibly assist me with some prizes for this golf day or perhaps sponsor a tee or green???????

Please all remember that our Mens Golf AGM will be held at 18:00 on the 13th of April and our Ladies Golf AGM will be held the following day on the 14th April also at 18:00.  Our Main Club AGM will be held on the 25th of May @ 18:00.
