Message from . . .

Advertising, Media & Events Co-ordinator

Greetings to you all, Members & Friends . . .

With the KZN Strokeplay Championship Players arriving at our Club this weekend I am sure the Club will be alive with activity.

Friday late afternoon Howard & Wynona Crouch will once again be organising the Wozani Shootout for us.  Fuel Vouchers as prizes have been kindly sponsored by Wozani Berg Gasoline so please all join in and support this event.

See some pics below of the Shootout from last Friday down at the Club. Because of the public holiday the format was changed and only prizes were given out to anyone scoring a hole in one.  The only winner here was Jesse Verster.  Well done Jesse!!

Well everyone waited patiently for our Lucky Draws to begin last Friday evening, especially the Club Members Draw which was sitting at R1100.  No Club Member Winner last week so this coming Friday the jackpot will be R1200.

Any patron that supports our Club on a Friday night can enter into our Bar Lucky Draws by the way and can win!!

PLEASE NOTE - You have to be present at the Club to win these prizes if your name is drawn!!

If there is anyone out there that would like to contribute towards our Lucky Draw prizes for Friday night and sponsor a prize please could you contact me.  Our Friday evenings are quite festive at the moment with lots of support from the Members and also the local community so additional prizes would be great to add to the fun!!

I also advertise and promote your business as well in recognition of your contribution towards the prize evening, so it is well worth it to be a part of our Friday evening Fun!!

Winners for last Friday were . . .

Winner of our Bells Whiskey sponsored by Tails Up - Port Shepstone was Fred Southwell.

Winner of the R100 Meal Voucher from Schooners was Dave Chaplin.

See some social pics of Friday evening below.  The others can be viewed on our Facebook page . . .

This Friday down at our Club we will be featuring the band Braxton Hix.

Braxton Hix is a rock band founded in 2003 in New Zealand by guitarist Ivan the Terrible, formerly of Dr Doolittle.  This band has undergone many changes from New Zealand, Australia and South Africa but they are now currently based on the South Coast.

Their music includes influences of Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Uriah Heep, Black Sabbath, East European ethnic music, classical music and a wide variety of great musicians, bands and styles.

The band say their interests are fans, beer, braai, dear friends and pleasant people!!

So please support the Club this Friday evening and bring along your friends and your dancing shoes and come and party!!

Please could I ask that you all give generously to the hat when it is passed around.

The fires will be lit as usual and braai meat, salads & rolls can be purchased from Saffron Chefs.  The Dinner Menu will also be available for the evening.

The next Sharks game will be on Saturday 9th May 09:35 am . . .

The rugby report from last weeks game is as follows . . .

Just when we thought things could not get worse…….

I remember as a little kid and things did not go well, my dad always said “Smile things could be worse…”.
Well I tried the old man’s advice last Friday before the Sharks Vs Highlanders game and I smiled but then things got worse…..
Workers day 2015 was not a good day to be a Sharks supporter, thinking we could start our day by watching our boys turn their season around…… Sadly it seemed that most of the players thought they were on a day off as well.
With Fred Zeilinga’s kicking seeming like it was the first time he was given a rugby ball and kicking tee…..too the disgusting amount of missed tackles and unforced handling errors there is not one Sharks player who deserved to get paid for his days’ work.

It appears their only method of attack was
via the driving maul off a lineout.

There’s no skill out wide, with the passing and catching skills of an embarrassing nature. Gold promised his side would play a more attractive brand after Jake White copped criticism last year, but the Sharks class of 2015 has most definitely taken a step backwards.

With Steyn being available this weekend we hope he will be bring his “A” game if he is selected and will be able to inspire the rest of the boys too play to their full potential.
The thing that is even more frustration is the total silences of the Sharks CEO….There seems to be something very wrong at the Sharks this year and I think it’s time that management starts giving us some answers and not blaming it on the players….but then that’s just one fan on the south coast’s view.

Here’s hoping that come this Saturday we will at least have a good game…. Sharks for ever.

Kick-off for Saturday's clash at Westpac Stadium is scheduled to start at 09:35 (SA time).
