LaFiera - update
Shop Windows - Local businesses were invited to get into the spirit of the Festival by decorating your shop fronts in all things Italian! Last year the town was filled with some creative windows in traditional green, white and red.
With less than 10 days until LaFiera is launched on Tuesday 17th May, now is the time to show your support.
Programs are available from the Myrtleford Visitor Information Centre and a copy will be included in this weeks Myrtleford Times and Alpine Observer. Additional copies can be requested by email email@example.com .
A new look website has been developed for LaFiera and full program can be viewed www.lafiera.com.au Program events the Stefano Manfredi Dinner and Mushroom Forage have both SOLD OUT and no additional tickets available.
Invitation to Launch of LaFiera - Celebrazione Michelini commences at 6.00p.m on Tuesday 17th May at Michelini Wines and your all invited. We are fortunate to have Patrizia Simone a well known local foodie and writer officially opening this years festival. Maurice Milani Family Gala Evening - Club Savoy Friday 20th May - Last year Friday evenings family gala dinner sold out so locals are advised to make a booking with Club Savoy to avoid disappointment on this or any evening throughout LaFiera. Phone the Club direct on 5751 1296
Barista's be ready - the Baristas race will take place in the Piazza on Saturday 21st at 3.30p.m - We have new aprons printed for this years race and a great prize thanks to Myrtleford Times and NE Media. See full details here Caffe e dolce posters will be provided to those businesses who are happy to offer a coffee and 'sweet' for $6 during the Festival. Saturdays Wine & Food Festa
Following the 9.00a.m Mass and procession for St. Anthony of Padua in the Piazza, a full day of entertainment is planned with some traditional Italian music from IGiovanotti and a host of other entertainers. Local Vicentini, Calabrese and Savoy Soccer Clubs will again be joining other local businesses in providing a great variety of traditional Italian food matched by wines from Alpine Valley Vigneron members and chestnuts from Chestnuts Australia. Cooking demonstrations by local Nonni and Stefano Manfredi will again be in St Pauls Church Hall so be early as doors close when the hall is full.
Sundays program is also full with the Ols School Museum historical display, local Trentino showcasing food from their home region in Italy followed by an outdoor play "Venice in Love". Sport is also big on Sunday with a friendly Bocce competition and the well known 'La Fiera Cup' soccer challenge at the Myrtleford Savoy Soccer Club.
