Great Victorian Bike Ride
Over 3,000 riders will be passing through Myrtleford on Tuesday December 2nd
On their trek from Bright to Moyhu the riders will be travelling on the following roads:
- Great Alpine Road
- Snow Road
- Wangaratta-Whitfield Road
Reported at as one of the great bike rides in the world. The 2014 ride features the hills and valleys of the spectacular North East of Victoria. This is no ordinary bike ride: described as a travel holiday on wheels which is social, inspiring, and a challenge. Saturday 29 November – Sunday 7 December 2014.
Our towns parks and gardens are looking great and showcase Myrtleford - we hope riders feel welcome as they travel through and then put a big circle around Myrtleford on their maps as a destination to return to with family and friends in the future.
Our 'Peace' themed banners which add that splash of colour and support multiculturalism have been hung throughout the CBD. Christmas music will again be put through the towns PA system from December 1st during trading hours. A big thank you to John Versteegen and friends for maintaining and putting up the Nativity Scene in front of St. Pauls Church in Clyde Street. Thanks also to the Alpine Shire Parks and Gardens Team who continue to keep the town looking tidy and have made some additional Christmas decorations this year.
