Let's save community solar this week!
We're hoping that in the next several days, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and the Public Service Commission will make a major revision to the way solar power is valued in New York State. We have spent months showing how the current solar compensation policy is thwarting the growth of community solar in New York and sending solar jobs out of state. With your help, we also demonstrated widespread support for an immediate remedy. We passed legislation in the NY State Assembly by a wide margin and generated hundreds of calls and letters to Senators. Now, Governor Cuomo can act to make sure that this summer, we get community renewable energy moving again in New York
Join us in urgently calling on the Governor to create a solar power policy that works for all New Yorkers. Please sign this petition from the New York Energy Democracy Alliance and help spread the word!

Right now, New York’s solar policy isn’t working. The state’s method for valuing solar power has blocked over $900 million in solar power investment over the last year, and has caused working class communities and communities of color across New York to be shut out of the renewable energy economy. The dysfunctional policy is called "Value of Distributed Energy Resources" or VDER. We've dubbed it "Darth VDER" because it is crushing community renewable energy across the state. Governor Cuomo can change this policy, but he needs to hear from you. Please take a minute to sign the petition today.
Thank you for your help,
