A Message from the President...

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Well, the Holiday Season is now upon us. As we rush to get everything done I hope you find a little time to spend with those you love the most. Our talented PTA Board, Committee Chairs and volunteers are as busy as Santa’s Elves getting ready for some holiday fun as well as planning for the New Year.

The PTA kicked off the Holiday Season with our annual Breakfast with Santa. A huge Thank You goes to Lori Penderleith (our VP of Student Events), and Committee Charis Traci Pellecchia, Jessica Morgan and Tammie Biagi for running this event. A special thanks also goes to all of our volunteers and kitchen staff without whom this event would not be possible. All of their efforts, plus a visit from the “Big Guy” helped to get us all into the holiday spirit.

Our Holiday Shop is fast approaching as is our much anticipated Father Daughter Winter Ball. Please check the PTA website at for the shopping schedule, details, ticket sales and more. Also, please look for an announcement in January regarding our 3rd major fundraiser of the year.

Well I’m off to finish my shopping! On behalf of the PTA, I would like to wish everyone a wonderful Holiday Season and a Happy New Year!

Kind Regards,

Breakfast with Santa...

was WONDERFUL!  Everyone enjoyed yummy pancakes & sausage & lots of scrumptious treats thanks to our fabulous ladies in the kitchen! Thank you, Kathy Chiominto (Food Service Director at both HTS & PVS), Helen Dominic, Judy Griffith, & Kathy Silvia (Food Servers from PVS) for delivering such great food & service!  Thank you to our PTA Coordinators: Traci Pellecchia (5th year orchestrating the breakfast), Danie Dotsey-Ramirez for her continued assistance with the breakfast for many years as well, and our new coordinators Jessica Morgan & Tammie Biagi!

A huge thanks to all of the parents that helped and/or contributed to the breakfast with baked goods especially Christine Lupo, Danielle Crawford, Megan Sakleh, and Heather Dell!  Thank you to Danielle Salario & Kelly Yanek for their technology brilliance in ticket sales & advertising!  Thank you to our PTA President, Jen Bowen for all of your many efforts as well!

The 6th grade elves did an excellent job painting hands & faces, handing out Santa’s little gifts & candy canes, and keeping smiles on the faces of many kids!  Thank you to all of our student helpers from local churches!  Your help was greatly appreciated!  Robin & Girl Scout Troop 61907 did an awesome job helping at our craft table!  Thank you all so very much!  Santa is resting up for his big day in a few short weeks!  We are so glad you were able to hang out with him for a bit Saturday morning before he makes his big trip around the world soon!  Happy Holidays to all!

HTS Holiday Shop

The Holiday Shop will be back this year at HTS from December 11 - 15.  A schedule and envelope came home via backpack mail.

You are welcome and encouraged to come shop with your child.  We will also have adults on hand to help as needed.  If you'd like to volunteer at the shop, please sign up on the PTA website or click here

It's a lot of fun!

PVS students will have the opportunity to shop after hours at the HTS Holiday Shop on Wednesday December 13th. The Holiday Shop will be open between 5-8pm for anyone who would like to come in and shop with their children.
This will be a good opportunity for PVS students to come and shop as well.

HTS/PVS Nurses' Holiday Gift Card Drive

Hi All,  Just wanted to say thank you for the wide outpouring of support for our holiday gift card drive!  We are currently $6,950 into our goal of $11,800.  While I realize that is a large amount of gift cards, our goal is to raise $100 for every child in Harrison Township that will probably not otherwise receive holiday gifts.  We are still collecting gift cards for either Target or Walmart until Monday, December 11th, if you would still like to donate.  Again, your generosity is greatly appreciated!!!  -Nurses

Thank you to those of you that have already starting sending in Box Tops so far this year! Our first submission is being sent to the Box Tops program, and our school will be receiving a check for over $2,000 already, including the remaining Box Tops submitted at the end of the 2016-2017 school year. As you can see, Box Tops does collect a significant amount of money for our PTA, and we couldn't do it without your help!!
As a reminder, I'm so grateful when the Box Tops are sent in to school already clipped, counted & bag in sets of 50. It makes sorting them so much less time consuming for me and our volunteers. Therefore, please send unexpired Box Tops, in groups of 50, with the bag or envelope clearly marked with the number of Box Tops, your child's name, teacher, and grade.
The Box Tops contest is underway, and one classroom at both HTS and PVS with the highest Box Tops total during the school year will win an ice-cream party in the spring!!
Keep up the great work!! If you would like to volunteer to clip & count Box Tops, please email me at or click here to sign up! Thanks for your support! ~Holly Houpt
