Earlier this year, we entered the Follett Challenge, a program created by Follett to find and reward schools for their work applying technology, content and creativity in ways that engage students, foster literacy and promote critical thinking. As part of the competition, we created a short video about what makes our program unique.
January 22 – 26, 2018 the VOTING BEGINS!

Let's spread the word through parent communications with your students' families too! You can cast one vote per day January 22 – 26, 2018, so be sure to visit often!

PVS BOOK FAIR
The PVS Book Fair dates are Tuesday January 30th through Tuesday February 6th. The setup will be in the afternoon of January 29th. The evening shopping hours are on January 31st from 6pm till 8pm. Look for a signup link soon on our website and on our Facebook page for volunteering options.

Harrison's Got Talent
Dust off those tap shoes, tune up your instruments, warm up your voices or prepare any other variety act to showcase your skills for this year's PTA TALENT SHOW.
The search has began and the PTA is looking for all teachers, staff and students, from Pre-K to 6th grade to participate in the Annual PTA Talent Show. The Talent Show will be Saturday, February 24, 2018 (snow date Sunday, February 25, 2018).
Additionally, there will be mandatory rehearsals for every performer. The rehearsal dates are February 7th and 21st for Show #1 and February 8th and 22nd for Show #2. Individuals will not be permitted to participate in the Talent Show if they are not present at both rehearsals. Each Act will be limited to 2 1/2 minutes in duration.
*Please note all costumes and music must be in good taste and in accordance with our District’s STARS program and dress code.
Registration for this event is online only and can be done at the PTA's website.
Tickets for admission to the Show will be available February 1, 2017. The cost of admission is $1.00 per individual over the age of 12 but every person in attendance MUST HAVE A TICKET. Tickets will not be distributed via backpack mail but will instead be available for pick-up at DRESS REHEARSAL ONLY.

Coming in Spring 2018 . . .
Our school is pleased to support a student artworks project this spring! Students will be working on drawings at school, which we’ll send to SilverGraphics Studios for scanning. Then, in Spring 2018, you’ll have the chance to order from over 50 products featuring your child’s artwork.
SilverGraphics has some wonderful customized products including: mugs, potholders, water bottles, ceramic tiles, pendant necklaces, iphone covers, art slates, environmentally-friendly canvas bags, and more. Photos of these products and other favorites can be viewed at www.silvergraphics.com


Thank you to those of you that have already starting sending in Box Tops so far this year! Our first submission was sent to the Box Tops program, and our school will be receiving a check for over $2,000 already, including the remaining Box Tops submitted at the end of the 2016-2017 school year. As you can see, Box Tops does collect a significant amount of money for our PTA, and we couldn't do it without your help!!
As a reminder, I'm so grateful when the Box Tops are sent in to school already clipped, counted & bag in sets of 50. It makes sorting them so much less time consuming for me and our volunteers. Therefore, please send unexpired Box Tops, in groups of 50, with the bag or envelope clearly marked with the number of Box Tops, your child's name, teacher, and grade.
The Box Tops contest is underway, and one classroom at both HTS and PVS with the highest Box Tops total during the school year will win an ice-cream party in the spring!!

DONATION BOX
We have placed a Donation Box in the main office of both schools. If at any time you would like to make a donation, download the “Donation Box" form from the PTA website and place it in the Donation Box with your donation. Please know that the donations are a fundraiser with all proceeds going to the students AND the donations are tax-deductible. **The donation box is not to taking the place of any classroom donations and donations are completely voluntary!

Did you know the PTA funds the school assemblies, purchases educational subscriptions, sponsors the class picnics, and makes annual donations to the schools? Not sure what it means to be a PTA member? By being a member you help fund these activities and demonstrate your support to our PTA and all of its volunteers. Membership is $12
