Congratulations to CLAHRC East of England members announced as Q initiative fellows
The Eastern Academic Health Science Network (EAHSN) have recently announced their 10 members of the founding cohort of the Q initiative. Donna Malley (Enduring Disabilities and Disadvantage theme and CLAHRC Fellow 2014) and James Ward (CLAHRC Patient Safety theme) have been confirmed as new Q Fellows, following success in a highly competitive process.
The Q initiative, led by the Health Foundation and supported by NHS England, connects people skilled in quality improvement across the UK.

Benefits Advice Service for involvement
This new confidential service provided by the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) in partnership with others, has expert knowledge and can offer valuable advice on how payment of fees and expenses for public involvement might affect people in receipt of state benefits. This includes involvement in health or social care research, service design or service delivery.

CLAHRC fellowship applications for January 2016 are now open
Application deadline is Friday 14 August 2015.
The CLAHRC fellowship is aimed at clinicians, health and social care practitioners, and managers, who would like to work at the interface of research and practice, and develop an understanding of the research environment.
Fellows are funded by CLAHRC one day a week for a year to:
- complete a research project under the supervision of one of the CLAHRC’s senior investigators.
- attend monthly half-day workshops that will cover research methodologies, service redesign and change management,
- attend a bi-monthly action learning set (ALS) for practical support.

Update to CLAHRC EoE's application process for the next round of funding - Remit and FAQs
The Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care East of England (CLAHRC EoE) Prioritisation Group has further updated the funding information with information on the remit and an FAQ's document.

The deadlines for applying remain as the following:
- June to August 2015: Partner organisations and research theme leads to develop proposals
- September 1st 2015: Deadline for submitting to PPI Theme for review
- September 28th 2015: Deadline for submitting proposals to Prioritisation Group for review
- During October to December 2015: Decisions will be made and theme leads informed
- April 1st 2016: Projects to begin
