Rethinking Approaches to Mental Health

5 Year Forward View for Prevention, Treatment & Support

Six months on from the release of ‘The Five Year Forward View Mental Health: Mental Health Taskforce’ this event from Policy-UK, aims to bring together representatives from across the mental health community. It will examine the funding priorities, emerging innovations in treatment and latest thinking on how to deliver effective, patient-centred support to those with mental ill health.

CLAHRC EoE supported Early Intervention research included in NICE Guidelines

Epidemiological research findings have been included in new NICE guidelines on the early intervention (EI) of Psychosis. Psyhosis incidence data has been translated into 'PsyMaptic', an online population prediction tool being used by key organisations in the planning and commissioning of NHS EI services.

PsyMaptic was developed by Dr James Kirkbride, with Professor Peter Jones. It was funded from the Wellcome Trust and supported by CLAHRC EoE.

Head of UUK Health Research Networks - apply now

Applications are invited for the Head of Universities UK’s Health Research Networks post. The role involves running Health Services Research UK and the NIHR CLAHRC Partnership Programme, bringing together key stakeholders across research and health care to improve services and outcomes for patients.

Public members sought for Public Involvement Virtual Involvement Network (PIVIN)

The Public Involvement Virtual Involvement Network (PIVIN) has just been launched by the NIHR Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC). The Centre oversees funding for health and social care research.

People with experience of public involvement, and who are passionate about it being done well are being sought to join PIVIN. The group will support public involvement in the running and research work of the Centre.

Call for applications for multi million research programme led by disabled people

Disability Research on Independent Living and Learning (DRILL) are calling for applications to fund research to find out how disabled people, and those with long term conditions can live independently. Grants will be up to £150,000. 

Disabled people, organisations supporting disabled people, and researchers in the field are all encouraged to apply.
