EPSRC funded PhD Studentship in Digital Civics (Public Health and Social Care)

The EPSRC have fully funded four-year doctoral studentships in Digital Civics in Public Health or Social Care available (commencing September 2017) and are seeking applicants with a passion for civic life, an interest in how digital technologies can be used to support citizens and communities, and an undergraduate or masters level education in public health, health services, social science or a related subject.

Abstract Call and Registration – HSRUK Symposium 2017

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS (PRESENTATION AND/OR POSTER)  

The Symposium welcomes abstracts on all aspects of health services and policy research. They are inviting abstracts on the following themes: Access and equity; Commissioning; Emergency; Improvement Science; Innovation; Integrated care; Methods; Organisations; Patient voice; Patient experience; Quality; Workforce.

CALL FOR SESSIONS
The Symposium 2017 call includes the option to submit joint proposals to run sessions or workshops. We welcome proposals on all aspects of health services and policy research.

Innovating Towards a More Inclusive Future

Saqib Shaikh, a software engineer at Microsoft, has personal experience of how technology has greatly improved his life, as someone who is visually impaired.

He will describe research at Microsoft to empower disabled people, and how he believes that innovations for a specialist group can lead to mainstream technologies, and thus create a more inclusive environment.
