Children and clinical research: ethical issues

The latest report by Nuffield Councils on Bioethics looks at the ethics of involving children in research, and at the roles and responsibilities of children, parents/guardians, and professionals.

New Clinical Trials Guide launched

To mark International Clinical Trials Day 2015, we have released a new Clinical Trials Guide for Trainees. The guide is the outcome of the first stage of an NIHR project to develop a source of information to support individuals interested in pursuing a research career that involves the delivery of clinical trials.

Dying without dignity Investigations by the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman into complaints about end of life care.

This report details 12 cases that illustrate the complaints that have been received about end of life care. It’s 6 key themes are poor symptom control, poor communication, inadequate out of hours services, poor care planning and more.
