News

New evidence from CLAHRC EoE's Dementia, Frailty and End of Life care theme researchers

'New cases of dementia in the UK fall by 20% over two decades'- the CFAS study, led by Professor Carol Brayne, has found that dementia incidence across two decades has dropped by 20%. Measures such as education, health promotions like smoking reduction and attention to diet and exercise may be driving a reduction in risk in some countries.

'Attitudes to death among the very old' - led by Dr Jane Fleming and Dr Morag Farquha, this study found when given the chance, the very old in our society are willing to discuss dying and that many expressed that it did not scare them.
