Turbomeca Arriel 2 Second Line Course in France

Early May, our Aircraft Technician Bjarne Jørgensen completed a Turbomeca Arriel 2 second line course at the Turbomeca facilities in Bidard, France. As you may know, Turbomeca produces engines for Airbus helicopters among others.

The second line course enables Bjarne to switch modules on the engine and carry out related inspections.

For our customers this means that we can perform many tasks on the engine ourselves - rather than having to send the engine to e.g. France. This will save both time and money.

Earlier this year, Bjarne also completed a type course on the AS350B3e at Airbus.

Performing Cessna SID Inspections

At the moment, we perform a large number of Cessnas SID inspections. SID is short for Supplemental Inspection Documents and refer to a Cessna safety program related to Cessna 100 and 200 series aircraft of a certain age.

If your Cessna is in need of a SID inspection, or if you are not sure whether it is in need, do not hesitate to contact us.

See Cessnas brief SID-introduction on YouTube (4:36 min.)

Cirrus Factory Course, US

As you may very well know, Air Service Vamdrup is an authorized Cirrus Service Center in Norway. To preserve and maintain this status, we must complete courses at the Cirrus factories in the US, to keep ourselves updated on all areas related to the Cirrus aircraft.

this April, Torben Biehl Jensen completed a 14 day course in Duluth in Minnesota, US, on how to repair the composite that Cirrus planes are built of. During the course, he also learned more about 'Cirrus CAPS' - aka the Cirrus Airplane Parachute System.

Did you know that.... As of February 2015, Cirrus had delivered over 5,800 aircraft in 16 years of production. The company was founded in 1984.
Spring is here, and spring is equal to a new rotation of annual inspections of the many Russian PC-12 aircraft, for which we are responsible. As a result, there is great bustle in the workshop in Vamdrup these days....

Another 5 Release Certificates for Pilatus PC-12
In December, we completed a Pilatus PC-12 type course for technicians at our facilities at Vamdrup. As a result, we obtained an EASA approval to conduct an internal course for five of our own technicians, and we are happy to share with you that these technicians now have passed their test and thus formally have obtained the approval (B1 + B2).

The five release certificates are important to both us and our customers as they enable us to handle an even larger workload related to the popular single engine turboprop aircraft - the Swiss produced Pilatus PC-12.

We wish everyone blue skies and many happy landings!

Best regards,

Air Service Vamdrup
