25 years in Air Service Vamdrup

June 1st 2014, Torben Biehl Jensen, Business Development Director at Air Service Vamdrup, is celebrating his 25th anniversary within the company.

He initiated his career as a "sweep boy" when he was just 18 years old. Soon, he decided to train as an aircraft mechanic and finished apprenticeship in 1992. In 2005, he was promoted to Maintenance Shop Manager, and in 2010 he joined the ownership of the company.

Early 2013, Torben became Business Development Director - and this month he was able to add "Base and Line Manager" for the company's Norwegian divison to his CV.

NEW: Piaggio Avanti P180 Approval

Air Service Vamdrup has been approved to perform maintenance on the Piaggio Avanti P180 in Denmark - for European registered aircraft.

The Piaggio Avanti P180 is an Italian twin-engine turboprop aircraft produced by Piaggio Aero. It seats up to nine passengers in a pressurized cabin, and may be flown by one or two pilots.

The design uses a small forward wing and a main wing combination that places the wing spars outside of the passenger cabin area. Although the front wing resembles a canard configuration, a conventional horizontal stabilizer on the tail provides longitudinal stability and pitch trim. It features a lifting laminar flow fuselage and has engines in a pusher configuration.

TBM 900 Approval

At the moment, we have two technicians training to get the PART-147 training for the newly unveiled TBM 900, new to our approval certificate.

At Air Service Vamdrup, we are happy to be among the first in Northern Europe to be able to maintain the new TBM 900 aircraft. The TBM 900, that was unveiled in France in March 2014, is the newest member of the TBM family of very fast, single-engine turboprop business aircraft. The TBM 900 offers improved efficiency, an enhanced environment for both pilots and passengers, and superior performance without increased fuel consumption or additional engine power.
