BROADCAST: Winter festivals (Tas, Vic), album mixing and video...
The sun was shining in Melbourne for Election Day 2016, a lovely reward for everyone queueing up to cast their votes! So now, with voting out of the way, and with no clear result in sight, perhaps we can distract you with some Broads news!
FESTIVAL OF VOICES, TASMANIA
We love a good festival, so we're really looking forward to heading down to Tasmania this week for the Festival of Voices, which by all accounts is a damn good festival. We'll be playing two shows at the festival:
- a gorgeous, intimate show for Portraits in the Attic on Tuesday 5 July at 8.30pm (doors at 8pm) at The Founders Room, Salamanca Arts Centre; and
- at the beautiful Rosny Barn on Thursday 7 July at 7.30pm - tickets to this show include a locally-sourced tasting plate! Hope we get a couple for backstage too...
LEAPS AND BOUNDS MUSIC FESTIVAL, MELBOURNE
We then head home to play a couple of shows at one of Melbourne's great celebrations of music, the Leaps and Bounds Music Festival:
- We're honoured to be sharing a bill with some of Melbourne's best artists to celebrate the music of Deborah Conway. The Deborah Conway - Living Legend show will take place at The Gasometer Hotel on Sunday 10 July and features the talents of Clare Bowditch, Vika and Linda Bull, Rebecca Barnard, Emily Lubitz (Tinpan Orange), Barry Morgan, Casey Bennetto, and BROADS! And many more too. It's going to be such a great show - don't miss it!
- The Night Sky is a Jewellery Store Window is a beautiful video series by local musician and all-round top shelf man Damon Smith. We're joining a bunch of other fab artists for the second artist showcase at the Gaso on Thursday 14 July. 21 artists, one old guitar called Zach and a whole lot of beautiful music.
Yep. That's happening this month. We're one step closer to launch day so if y'all can keep your diaries free for October/November that'd be swell... :)
We've done some pretty special shows, including a couple of shows through Parlour Gigs. Here's a snippet from one:
