Jamis® Going Deep With Plus Bikes
at 2016 Sea Otter Classic

2017 Jamis Komodo® Expert 27.5+

April 14, 2016, Sea Otter Booth #888 — This time last year, Jamis was introducing the Dragonslayer® 27.5+ to mountain bike riders around the world. With an impressive list of features including a famous Jamis steel frame, adjustable sliding thru-axle dropouts, Boost 142 spacing, trail geometry and a whole host of eyelets and mounts to load up for bike packing, the Dragonslayer was designed for flat-out fast trail riding as well as exploring the backcountry for weeks at a time. “PLUS bikes are the most exciting and talked about new category in mountain bikes”, says Jamis MTB Product Manager Sal Crochiola, “and with a full year in the market under our belt, Jamis is moving full-steam-ahead on introducing new models for 2017; three of which we’ll be premiering at this weekend’s Sea Otter Classic in Monterey, CA.”

In addition to their heralded Dragonslayer which Adventure Cyclist Magazine said, “may be all the mountain bike you’ll ever need.”, while Bikepacking.com gushed Dragonslayer is “a bike fit for turning rough trails into fairy tales." Jamis will introduce the 2017 Komodo 27.5+. Komodo is the aluminum yin to the steel Dragonslayer’s yang, sporting all the same features, geometry and smooth riding attributes of the Dragonslayer with a lighter weight, triple-butted 6061 alloy frame.

Adding to Komodo, Jamis will be debuting new 26+ versions of their Dragonfly and Eden women’s models. “Being that Jamis was the brand who spearheaded the 650b (27.5) revolution and given the overwhelming positive feedback we’ve received from women riders for our 27.5” bikes, it just made perfect sense to us to bring the 26+ wheel size to our women’s mountain bike platforms.” Crochiola continues, “The 26+ wheel coupled with frame clearance for a 3” tire means women gain all the benefits of PLUS bikes, including increased traction and comfort, while maintaining the 27.5” outer wheel diameter they’ve been so happy with.”
