Annual Meeting Recap

2017 was a productive year for KTA thanks to many dedicated volunteers!  Over 1,200 hours of trail maintenance was performed on 70 miles of trail under KTA's stewardship. Funding continued strong with community donations as well as grants. The growing Spence Mountain trail network now has 18 miles of trail and is well signed. A beautiful new trailhead was finished this fall at Spence Mountain's Shoalwater Bay. Another significant project was just completed by a hardworking crew that constructed a 166' boardwalk over a wet boggy area at the beginning of the Klamath Ridgeview Trail in Moore Park.

A good time was had by all at KTA's Annual Meeting last week.  One of the highlights included a check presentation by Zach Gilmour for $4,000 to KTA from the Lost Cascade Bike Club's Crater Lake Century bike event held last August.  Jeremy Morris also presented a check for $1,000 to KTA from the Linkville Lopers.  A BIG THANK-YOU to both organizations.

Local Trail Maps

Everyone loves a good map, don’t they?  Checkout KTA’s new pocket trail map featuring Moore Mountain, Spence Mountain and Brown Mountain trail systems.  Maps are color coded with a trail difficulty system designed for biking.  Green depicts easy trails, Blue represents more difficult trails and Black refers to the most difficult trails. They are currently available at Asana Yoga & Sole, Zach’s Bikes and Hutch’s Bicycles.  Maps are free but a donation is appreciated.

Spence Mountain Green Trail Challenge Update

Great news… just four weeks into our fundraiser we’ve raised 90% of goal!  Recall, our campaign is to fund trail construction for green or “easy” trails at Spence Mountain in 2018.  Thanks to a generous donor that offered to match the first $10,000 raised it looks like we'll blow by the goal.  Stay tuned and keep it coming!  More money means more trails.  If you want to make a donation click on this link.

Thank-you!
