Spence Mountain field trip

Spence Mountain had 20-plus visitors last week when sixth grade students from Malin Elementary took a field trip on the new trail system.
Klamath Trails Alliance board secretary Drew Honzel gave the students a brief tutorial about what it takes to build a trail system. He also handed out maps  of Moore Park and showed the students the plans for 50 miles of trail at Spence.

Your trail club needs you
KTA is looking for a few good people. We have openings on both our regular board of directors and our advisory board.
The regular board meets on the first Wednesday of each month to discuss and vote on club business. These board members are requested to attend each board meeting and to help with club projects. Without active board members we would be hard-pressed to to accomplish anything. The current board has members who have retired from full-time jobs and younger members who are still working. We have a good mix of ages. Everyone loves the outdoors and works hard to accomplish our goals.
If you can't come to evening meetings, consider joining our advisory board, which provides a means for involving people who are willing to give critical assistance but have limited time. The main difference between the two boards is the regular board has voting power while the advisory board does not. Some advisory board members come to many board meetings and act the same as regular board members.
So, give us some thought. We have many projects looking for the right person to lead them. We need  a wide diversity of people and talents. Come check us out. You will find out we get things done. Be a part of helping our community. Contact us at info@klamathtrails.org
