Plan for Engineering

Looking to bring an engineer into your classroom? For over three years, the Engineering Ambassadors program has paired local engineers and other STEM professionals with teachers and their students to bring engaging design challenges to middle and secondary classrooms in the greater Portland area.

Click Here to register today for one of two themed workshops:

Electrical systems

Central Maine Power, Augusta (snow date, March 16)

Developers of biochemical containment
and filtration equipment

The Baker Company, Sanford (snow date, March 16)

We’ve created two short videos that showcase the work of engineers that live and work right here in Maine. These videos are a product of the Engineering Ambassadors program in an effort to connect more of Maine’s students to engineers.

Plan for Computer Science

Code.org Regional Partnership

MMSA and Educate Maine are proud to announce the two organizations have been selected as Code.org Regional Partners through a collaborative partnership. We will provide quality computer science professional development to educators and act as a regional hub for computer science education.

Maine teachers can apply to be part of Code.org's Professional Learning Program; an intensive, year-long program for middle and high school educators. Teachers who apply and are accepted to the program can participate in all parts of the program at no cost to the teacher or school. This opportunity provides needed support to teachers and schools to implement computer science in middle schools and high schools across Maine.

Did you know, that a $100 donation gives enough flexibility to our operating budget that we would then have the opportunity to provide an educator with a scholarship to attend one of our full day workshops? And remember, that one educator works with dozens of students every single day.
