As we look forward we want to help “Build the Future” by inviting you to join us and some of Ireland’s most inspiring female entrepreneurs and business women for a day of inspiration and learning on Wednesday 7 October.
Female entrepreneurs and budding businesswomen will be looking to the future at this year’s National Women’s Enterprise Day after the line up for the event was announced this week. The Local Enterprise Office initiative, now in its 15th year, will be hosted by founder and broadcaster Áine Kerr.
The free event, titled “Build The Future”, takes place online on the 7th October and will feature some of Ireland’s best known female entrepreneurs including the likes of Aimee Connolly of Sculpted by Aimee, Rachel Doyle of The ArboretumandSharon Keegan of Peachy Lean, who was recently supported on Dragon’s Den UK.

Irish environmentalist Duncan Stewart, well-known as the host of RTÉ’s Eco Eye since 2002, will offer his expertise and guidance to businesses across the South East. Exclusively available to businesses in the South East, enterprises are invited to attend the free Green for Micro conference on Friday 15th October at 9.30 am, hosted online via Zoom.
The Green for Micro conference offers a unique opportunity to learn how to cut harmful emissions and make significant energy and bottom-line savings. It aims to support small businesses in the South East and break down environmental and sustainability challenges for their business.
Keynote speaker, Duncan Stewart, will share his insights on how vital it is for businesses to address environmental issues within their business and how this will ensure the sustainability of small enterprises into the future. Expert speakers from 3 Counties Energy Agency (3cea) and the Southern Region Waste Management office will share useful tips on how to make simple changes.
Led by the Local Enterprise Offices in the South East, in partnership with 3 Counties Energy Agency (3cea), the South East Green for Micro programme was launched in April 2019, funded by Enterprise Ireland to assist local businesses with their low carbon transition.

Women Entrepreneurs Competitive Start Fund

For this Women Entrepreneurs call, applications are invited from women entrepreneurs, entrepreneurial teams and existing early stage start-ups with a woman who has a place on the lead management team and who owns or will own at least 25% of the voting share capital in the start-up. The project must be active in the Manufacturing & Internationally Traded Services sectors.

For this All Sectors call, applications are invited from entrepreneurs, entrepreneurial teams and existing early stage start-ups active in the Manufacturing & Internationally Traded Services sectors, including but not restricted to, eligible companies that offer / services / solutions to address challenges and opportunities with regards to Climate Action with an emphasis on decarbonisation.
Applicants are asked to apply for one of the above calls only.
What is the maximum funding available?
The selected companies will receive a maximum investment of €50,000 for a 10% ordinary equity stake in the start-up company. The investment shall be released in two equal tranches. The Company will be required to secure additional equity investment of €5,000 (in Ordinary shares), from promoters or external investees, prior to the release of EI’s first tranche.
What is the call close date?
Both calls for applications will close on Tuesday 28th September 2021 at 3.00pm
Application Support Workshops
Application Support Workshops will be held online by Business Innovation Centres (BICs) nationwide. Workshops are free to attend. Spaces are limited, workshops are interactive and participation is welcomed from entrepreneurs and early stage companies. Workshops are also open to internationally based entrepreneurs looking to start a business in Ireland. Prior registration is required.
Your Local Business Innovation Centre (BIC) in addition to application support workshops can offer assistance with preparing your CSF application.
