Christen J. Grorud Endowed Memorial Fund
Obituary

As many of you may have heard, Chris Grorud, former UW History Graduate Student and SEAC staff member, passed away on Jan 24, 2016 in Jakarta, Indonesia. His family has established a memorial fund for Chris at UW. Below is a note from his sister Marit Sullivan:

"Many of you have asked about memorials for Chris. As a family, we have established the Christen J. Grorud Endowed Memorial Fund for Student Support at the Southeast Asia Center of the Jackson School for International Studies at the University of Washington in Seattle. Memorials sent to the family (Mark and Caryl Grorud, 1724 E. Linden Ave., Fremont, NE 68025) will be forwarded to this fund. You can also find this fund online at: giving.uw.edu/grorud.

If you prefer to send a check directly to UW, you can send to: UW Gift Services, Box 359505, Seattle, WA 98195-9505. Checks payable to UW Foundation. Please note "Christen J. Grorud Memorial Fund for Student Support" in the memo line.

It is our desire to establish a noteworthy fund that can continue to support students engaged in Indonesian Studies at the University of Washington. This was Chris' passion. Thank you for honoring his memory in this way."
