Hello!

We took a summer break in July! 😎 This is our 18th newsletter related to the manufacturing sector in the San Diego-Imperial Region. As always, our goal is to improve student’s success in the labor market through educator engagement where we will aim to update, expand, and align K-16 career educational pathways. Here, you'll find news, resources, best practices, upcoming events, industry-related virtual panels or tours, and job opportunities for your students, alumni & network!

VIRTUAL MACHINES Available for for Fall 2021: Autodesk, PLTW, & Adobe Software for Chromebooks - SURVEY
Why you may still need them:
  1. Some of your students will choose to attend remotely and so won't have access to your school computers.
  2. Some students will want to access the software outside of school hours but only have a Chromebook (or other underpowered computer) at home that can’t run the SW. By getting them access to the VM’s, it will make it much more equitable for those students.
In prepping for getting the VMs set up for the Fall, and to make sure Mark Martin has the most up to date list of schools - please take a few moments to fill out a survey at: https://forms.gle/ZXRonm9MQTegZibJ9

Feel free to spread the word about the virtual machines to other teachers in California (both K-12, and community college). If you have any questions, please reach out to Mark Martin at markmartin@peralta.edu.

:: New Partner ::

We recently met with a new workforce development partner The Energy Coalition (TEC) and learned about their FREE programs and services. TEC focus is to advance environmental knowledge, skills, and abilities for under-resourced TK-12 students and build equitable pathways to high-demand energy jobs for students across California. The Program aims to teach energy and sustainability fundamentals and build high-value energy career pathways among TK-12 students. Under the program, TEC delivers the Energy is Everything Program, a TK-12th grade module-based curriculum that explores sustainability topics through the lens of energy and conservation.

As the clean energy industry continues to rapidly transform the need for a well-prepared clean energy workforce continues to grow. If you are interested in learning more about them, please contact:
