Hello, it's Ruishan and Monica!
This is our 10th newsletter related to the manufacturing sector in the San Diego-Imperial Region. Monica and I had taken a short hiatus from the newsletter as we focus on Manufacturing Month this October but we hope this month's newsletter is full of information that is useful for you. In addition, we will resume our Skilled Trades Discussion Forum in December. As always, our goal is to improve student’s success in the labor market through educator engagement where we will aim to update, expand, and align K-16 career educational pathways. Here, you'll find news, resources for distance learning, best practices, upcoming events, industry-related virtual panels or tours, and job opportunities for your students!

The virtual machines (VM's) are now up and running for students to use. These VM's allow students who have Chromebooks at home to access CAD software needed for their classes.

If you're an educator who is still lacking access to software, or if you need help with setting up manufacturing and engineering CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, Inventor CAM, RevIt, Fusion) for your students, please request access now.

We’re using Cabrillo College's server farm (called Netlab) for our virtual machines (thanks Cabrillo!). This will be free for your school to use. Regional Director from The Bay Area, Mark Martin, is also developing Amazon Web Services as a backup, if needed.
