Work-Based Learning Spotlight!
"Cajon Valley Union School District is integrating career development starting in Kindergarten in order to help all students develop a vision of their future possible selves. We know that from as early as age seven, students begin to foreclose on ideas about their future possible selves. Much of this is due to misinformation about what they see and hear from people in their environment. As part of our framework, and to break those stereotypes, we work to introduce all of our students to the professionals in the world of work. We know that doing so builds important social capital and networks known as strong and weak ties that are essential to developing relationships that can lead to gainful employment. Our most recent World of Work Week with the San Diego County Office of Education will take us well past the 70K student views we've already achieved over the past two and a half years leveraging the Nepris platform. We encourage you to consider creating more opportunities for students to #MeetAPro."
