A podcast with me and Chelsea, a myth-busting movie, a blog about what matters and some sweet guitar tunes.
What's kicking, folks! Ready for WINTER?
Around here in Bend, we're downshifting into the colder months. GarageFit is on a 2x/week regular schedule and I'm jumping into new creative projects. Recent fun include hot springs, Crater Lake to learn about wolves and excellent van trips to nearby mountain biking.
In other news, Bikepacking.com featured my tale about exploring the Chilcotins. Check it out here!
Fun times on the Startup Sessions! (Featuring a cheesy photo of us spelling LOVE for our wedding photo shoot.)
Podcast: Creating a Life of Adventure
Speaking of podcasts... We're the 3rd most downloaded episode (out of 200+) on the Startup Sessions! Check out a podcast interview we did awhile back.
In it, we discuss our mindset for travel, life, food, pushing our boundaries and a whole lot more. It was a fun conversation and I didn't put my foot in my mouth toooo many times... Chelsea delivered wisdom the entire time, of course. Here's the link.
Movie: The Game Changers!
Check out the top documentary ever on iTunes, The Game Changers. Presented by James Cameron, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jackie Chan, it's a revolutionary new film about meat, protein and strength.
The Game Changers is the most compelling documentary that I've ever seen. Featuring badass athletes ranging from the Tennessee Titans defensive line to the world's strongest man to the winner of Wimbledon to UFC and boxing champs, it's a must-watch film! It's on Netflix, iTunes, Amazon...everywhere.
Another day GarageFitting! Nothing like creating diabolical workouts to hurt errr benefit your friends. We're not (quite) the world's strongest men, but we're having fun!
Living According to Your Hierarchy of Values
How do you choose your focus? With the changing seasons, I've shifted from tons of time outside to community building and creative projects (podcast, guitar, etc).
To do that, I needed to let some things slip. This short post by Derek Sivers (one of my favorite writers/thinkers) struck me as spot on! Here's a solid wisdom bomb from it:
Once you realize that one value is more important to you than another, you have to ask yourself if you’re living accordingly.
What’s ultimately more important to you?
Learning? Or creating?
Money? Or time?
Expanding? Or focusing?
(… etc.)
Once you know which takes top place, consider taking it to an extreme, to its logical conclusion, and optimizing your entire life around that top priority, letting go of almost everything else.
