Howdy Traipsers,
There's enough on all our minds right now, so lets mix it up. I'm here to interrupt election doomscrolling! How about some pictures of mountain ranges in NE Oregon from recent adventures instead?
Enroute to Bend from Idaho from the
project at my parents', I turned off my phone for five days and explored the Wallowa and Elkhorn Mountains. I spent my time in the Wallowas trail running and hiking, while the Elkhorns delivered superb mountain biking.
A refreshing repast pre-election and a solid reminder that I don't need to fly anyyyywhere to find incredible outdoor beauty. It's right in my backyard.

Onward!
Dakota

Just me and the mountain goats on Hurricane Creek Trail in the Wallowas. No wonder they call them The Little Alps! (Also, props to apps with 30 second camera timers...see how relaxed I look?)
Strange bedfellows on this trip: my keyboard, a bronze sculpture by my dad that I picked up at a foundry, and a maple 4x4 that we're going to grow mushrooms on! All less cuddly than Chelsea, but they don't toss and turn at night...
Van campsites with a view...and darn good sunsets.
Sing us a sooooong, in the piano van! (Thanks to my friend Eric for getting THAT stuck in my head for a week.)
Up high on the Elkhorn Crest Trail...
That's it for this edition. Catch you next week!
