Club News 10 July 2020

Dear members

Hopefully we have all had a chance to enjoy the Wimbledon replays this week and look back on some of the fantastic play (and hair cuts!). So this is a great time to get back on court and polish up ready for the club tournament which will begin this month.
The government have been able to relax even more rules for sport and leisure, so here is a short round-up of the points affecting the club and news to date:

Sessions resuming
The latest LTA advice confirms we can resume sessions, provided SD rules are followed. We have therefore block booked 3 courts so the following sessions can return - please do follow SD rules if waiting to get on.
Tuesday eve 7.30
Wed morning 10.00
Sat morning 10.00
Coached 'mini' sessions of 5 plus coach are permitted - update to follow.

Club house re-opened
Please feel free to use the club house and loos, subject to SD rules. Please bear in mind the hygiene protocols at all times.

Important - New Court Use
We are not allowed to use the new courts when the temp goes above 23 degrees as part of the curing process which will run until September! During hot weather this is likely to be after 11am. Please 'patch test' the court before walking on to it by pressing your thumb in an inconspicuous area behind the floodlights - if there is any give please leave and use the other courts.
The club has entered an annual maintenance package for the next 5 years, but please do sweep the courts and keep clear of debris.

Club Warm Up Tournaments - Singles and Doubles
Warm congratulations to Ian P, Mike P and Maria K on tournament success!

Club ladders
I now have an organiser - thanks to Ian - please let me or Ian Pickering know if you would like to join a ladder for singles or doubles.
