Club news, September 2020

Dear Members

It's great to see so many people on court playing safely in bubbles and really enjoying tennis, our club is booming!
Here's a round up of recent news and events.

Playing safely
First and foremost we want to protect members safety on and off the court so just a reminder of the Covid 19 guidance:
Please do not attend if you or your family / contacts have had symptoms in the past 14 days or you feel unwell.
We have added hand sanitisers - do use or bring your own
Please spray down the court before and after use including the net handle.
Please remember we are playing under SD rules.
Look out for any changes on the LTA website and gov. uk guidance.

Committee Meeting
Minutes of the September meeting are on our website here, importantly we really are struggling without a club Secretary - if you have 1 or 2 hours per month to manage emails and club info, do let me know at

We are seeing children back on court so please remember not to congregate when dropping off or waiting through lessons.

Club Tournament
Some fantastic results already! Well done to everybody that signed up and has made this a fantastic event.
Just a reminder to winners -  that you can select your own choice of bubbly or chocolates !!
Please feel free to send me picx of the action if you are happy for these to go up on wats app / website too.

Club Matches
A huge well done to our club captains, Liz Jackie and David for making it possible for us to play in the league fixtures over the Winter months. If you are interested in joining a ladies, mixed or mens fixture please do get in touch and let the captains know!

Club Sessions
These have been running at almost full capacity which is excellent! We have added a new Rusty Racquets / Beginners / Welcome session from 7.30 Monday - all welcome. This will be coached from 01 October with basket drills etc to get us back in the swing!

Courts 1 & 2 - the weather is kind to us at the moment, but we do need people to be aware these courts are very slippery when wet and we will be looking at adding more sessions if 3,4 and 5 become over subscribed.

Thank you - Tennis Garden
A huge 'Thank you' to Sara who has done super work in our tennis garden - well done. This is an ongoing project and do bring along any cuttings etc you feel we can grow.

Grounds and leaves
Do come along early to a session to help clear leaves from the gullies and courts. These can be dumped behind the clubhouse on the leaf pile. If you can help further do get in touch.

Please do remember to park at the bottom as the LC re-opens.

Club House
We have now successfully let the club house to Surrey Dance Academy who are more than happy for members to join for sessions [pre-booked]

Looking forward to seeing you on court soon,
