GULF 12 HOURS - FERRARI 488 PRO CLASS ENTRY
Dragon Racing are proud to announce they will run a full Pro Class entry at the Gulf 12 Hours at Yas Marina Circuit on the 17th December. We welcome the hugely experienced Frenchman Nic Minassian to the Dragon ranks. Nic will share the driving duties with Dragon regulars Matt Griffin & Rob Barff in Dragons brand new Ferrari 488 GT3. 
GULF 12 HOURS - 2 PORSCHE CAYMAN GT4 CLUBSPORTS IN THE GTX CLASS
Additionally at the Gulf 12 Hours we are pleased to announce that we are running our pair of Porsche Cayman Clubsport GT4's within the GTX category. TOYOTA GT86 DR EDITION MAKES TRACK DEBUT
 Following the successful introduction of the TRD 86 Cup into the region, Dragon Racing, as an engineering excercise, have developed the Toyota GT86 DR Edition to further optimise the on track performance of the TRD Toyota GT86 and improve the vehicle’s durability.

Dragon racing have completed an extensive development programme overseen by Technical Director Ian “Bicks” Bickerton and the Dragon professional driver’s to ensure the new addition to the Dragon fleet is easy to drive and the perfect entry level track car for our clients.

Toyota GT86 DR Edition Specification:

 
  • 2.0 Litre Boxer Engine with 230BHP / 235Nm
  • Dragon Edition Exhaust System for optimised track performance
  • 4 Way switchable engine map with Launch Control, Flat shift, Auto Blip
  • Optimised suspension geometry for increased track performance
  • Increased braking performance with uprated 6 Piston caliper front brake kit
  • Enhanced durability for circuit with Gearbox and Differential cooler packages
  • Enhanced durability for circuit with baffled and larger engine oil sump
  • Optimised drivetrain with lightened flywheel and clutch
  • Enhanced cooling with new bonnet and bumper design
We are now taking orders to retrospectively fit this performance enhancing update kit to any TRD Toyota GT86's within the region. Please note, in this ultimate specification the car is only eligible to compete within the NGK National Racing Series. However in the coming weeks we will release a bulletin detailing 3 stages of this development which will still allow the car to race in both the TRD 86 Cup and the NGK National Racing Series.

NGK RACING SERIES REPORT - DUBAI AUTODROME
The second National Race Meeting of the 2016-2017 season took place at the Dubai Autodrome on November 18th. Running on the challenging National Circuit configuration, Tani Hanna and Bill Martin took class victories behind Leon Price who finished runner-up in his Ferrari 458 GT3 Italia behind the Lamborghini Huracan of Wee Liam Keong.

Tani was accompanied and coached by International Ferrari GT star Marco Cioci in preparation for the Ferrari Finali Mondiali at Daytona - where of course we wish him the best of luck. 
LOTUS XV ALGARVE CLASSIC PRESS COVERAGE
As detailed in the previous Newsletter, Greg Caton took a fighting second place in the Dragon Racing Lotus XV in the Motor Racing Legends 50's Sportscars race at the Algarve Classic Festival on October 29th. And the following week, Greg received a fabulous full page write up in  the prestigious Autosport magazine in the UK - see below.

A full calendar of events is planned for the Lotus in 2017 and we will announce the race schedule very soon. 
488 GT3 - GULF CONCOURS AT THE BURJ AL ARAB
Our 488 GT3 was one of the many automotive stars on display at the inaugural Gulf Concours event held on the terrace at the Burj Al Arab over the 17th-19th November. The event aims to globally compliment Pebble Beach in California and the Concours of Elegance at Windsor Castle in the UK but with a twist by including a selection of modern vehicles alongside the classics.

"FAST ED" LANDS TOP INDYCAR DRIVE FOR 2017
All the team at Dragon Racing wish to congratulate Ed Jones on landing a full time IndyCar drive in 2017. The Dragon F4 test driver has signed to drive for Dale Coyne Racing in the 2017 IndyCar Series alongside veteran French driver Sebastien Bourdais. “I’m hugely excited about stepping up to the Verizon IndyCar Series next year with Dale Coyne Racing,” said Jones, 21. “To reach an agreement as early as we have done is great news as it gives me plenty of time to settle into the team and get to know everybody properly so we can prepare as well as possible for the season ahead.”

 McLAREN GT SPRINTS GET NEW LOOK FOR THE 2016-2017 SEASON
And finally, the team at Dragon Racing are delighted to showcase the new livery on the McLaren GT Sprints ahead of a busy 2016-2017 season. The cars have already had an early season outing to Bahrain International Circuit and have a busy schedule of events planned over the coming months. The McLarens are available to hire for shared Track Days, Motorsport Wednesdays and National Race Events within the UAE.
