Dear Campus Community,
In our message of support regarding anti-Asian discrimination on Friday, we used the term “Desi”; we have since learned that is not an appropriate word to use in reference to the South Asian community. It is a word that has been used negatively and can be exclusionary. We will discontinue and discourage the use of this term. We apologize if this caused concern or harm to anyone.
