CC’s on-campus indoor mask requirement will change starting with Block B on Monday, June 28.

At this time, about 60% of employees and 60% of Block B students have submitted vaccination documentation, enabling the Scientific Advisory Group to estimate the campus population’s vaccination rate to be at least 84%.
The COVID-19 incidence rate in El Paso County has returned to lower levels and is declining, with rates approaching what is designated as a low-risk environment. In addition, the CC community has not experienced cases of COVID-19 since June 3.
Starting Monday, wearing a mask indoors on campus is optional for fully vaccinated CC community members and strongly recommended for those who are unvaccinated.

All individuals are welcome to continue wearing masks in campus settings even when it’s not required. The CDC still strongly recommends masks for unvaccinated people, who are at the greatest risk of becoming infected. The Delta variant, expected to become dominant in the U.S. very soon, spreads more quickly than previous variants and poses a risk for more vulnerable people to be infected and experience serious illness if they are not fully vaccinated.
The CDC still requires that masks be worn any time you are traveling on a plane, bus, train, or other form of public transportation traveling into, within, or out of the United States and in U.S. transportation hubs including airports.
The best thing you can do to protect yourself and the community is to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Vaccinated people are unlikely to get sick with COVID-19 or spread it to others.
All members of the campus community are required to provide proof of vaccination or exemption by Aug. 1.
Students: The Immunization/Health information website provides links to the Student SUMMIT portals, as well as exemption forms and instructions for submitting documentation. If you have questions, contact
Employees may submit COVID-19 vaccination cards and information or exemption documents using this portal
CC will continue to update masking and other policies as the COVID-19 situation evolves. Thanks for doing your part to reduce the risk to our community.
