Dear Campus Community,

Today we are announcing the college’s new public events policy aimed at opening some events to the general public while mitigating the spread of COVID-19.

Public events are college-sponsored, on-campus events that are open to the general public. Beginning September 18, 2021, all members of the public age 12 or older attending a Colorado College-sponsored, indoor public event will be required to present proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test result, along with a valid photo ID. All attendees age three or older will be required to wear a mask indoors. People may remove masks temporarily when actively eating and drinking. This policy supersedes previous policies and may change in response to updates to public health guidance.

Acceptable proof of vaccination includes a CDC vaccination card, a photo of the card, or a digital vaccine record. Vaccination documentation must indicate that attendees are fully vaccinated, having received their final dose at least two weeks prior to the day of the event. Unvaccinated attendees may show documentation of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the event. Attendees younger than 12 years old do not need to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result but must adhere to the college’s indoor mask policy (three years or older) and be accompanied by a fully vaccinated adult or an adult providing proof of a negative COVID-19 test. Proof will be verified upon entry. Documentation will not be collected or stored by the college. Colorado College students, employees, and other active Gold Card holders who have met this requirement per existing college policy may use their Gold Cards as proof of vaccination/negative COVID-19 test.

We are working toward ensuring a safe and engaging experience at college-sponsored, indoor public events. If you have any questions about the college’s public events policy, please contact us at COVID19@coloradocollege.edu.

Sincerely,

Andrea Bruder
