Hello Students,

At Tutt Library, we are looking forward to seeing you in the building or helping you online in Block 2. Here is what you can expect:

Tutt Library Building Access: The building will re-open at 8 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 21. Use the south-facing Tava Quad doors to enter. Swipe your Gold Card to open the door and show your card and completed COVID-19 self-assessment in the CC Mobile App at our welcome desk.

If you are newly arrived on campus you are to first observe enhanced social distancing protocols and are not able to enter the library until you receive your negative initial COVID-19 test result.

COVID-19 Precautions: While in the building you must wear your mask at all times, observe social distancing, and otherwise comply with our precautions. Unfortunately, unlike in past years, the library is not an ideal setting for group study, and is optimized now for solo reading and study.

Hours During the Block
Mon-Thu: 8 a.m.-10 p.m.
Fri: 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
Sat: Closed
Sun: 1-10 p.m.

Study Space and Computing: Resuming Monday, Sept. 21, you can use Tutt Library study spaces and computers by reservation. Walk-up reservations are made as available.

Printing: ITS: maintains several printers on the first floor, with computers set aside for printing only, including new touchless printing. You do not need an appointment to print, but do need to stop first at the welcome desk just inside the front door of the library.

Susie B’s Café is closed this semester.

Circulation: Request books and other items for pick-up in a no-contact environment across from the first-floor circulation desk. Off-campus students who aren’t yet authorized to be on campus may request curbside pickup in the C1 parking lot, and Campus Safety is delivering books to students in quarantine or isolation. We are experimenting with mailing books to out-of-town thesis students only: contact Interim Library Director Steve Lawson with inquiries.

Research Services and Instruction: Contact research/reference services via the chat link on the library home page, via email at or by calling (719) 389-6662 (we will return your call). For thesis writers, contact your liaison librarian by email.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL): ILL is available for books now as well as articles. Please allow extra time; not all libraries are lending right now and the United States Postal Service is experiencing some delays.

Seay Music Library: The library is closed to visitors but providing services online. Materials from the Seay Collection are available to request in the library catalog.

Special Collections: Special Collections and the CC Archives are available for email consultations, but the reading room is closed for in-person research.

Best Regards,

Steve Lawson

Interim Library Director
