STEM Project

On Wednesday 30th November 2016, Minister Mary Mitchell-O’Connor, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, attended the closing session of an 8-week Enterprise Bootcamp in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and  Mathematics) in the Studio in dlr LexIcon.

The initiative was a collaboration between dlr Libraries and Local Enterprise Office (LEO) DLR.  The aim of the project was to develop student STEM skills by introducing them to the practical uses and possibilities of new creative technology while promoting problem-solving and entrepreneurial skills.

Students from Cabinteely Community School, Dominican College Sion Hill; St. Joseph of Cluny Secondary School, Killiney; Loreto College, Foxrock; Rathdown Senior School; Rosemont School; St. Killian’s Deutsche Schule and St. Raphaela’s Secondary School participated in the project.
Well done to all involved!

Between Reader's day, book and writing clubs, drop in writing clinics, as well as book recommendations and interviewing authors, it's hard to keep up! You can read about everything Sarah has been up to on her latest blog post. Need some book ideas for children's books? Sarah has it all sorted in her latest December book of the month video blog (vlog!), and you can also catch up with Judi Curtin who visited dlr LexIcon recently to chat about books with Sarah.
