Tim Carey is a best selling historian and dlr Heritage Officer. This promises to be a fascinating talk about our capital city, a panoramic yet intimate history of Dublin since independence.
Tim is the author of Mountjoy, The Story of a Prison, Hanged for Ireland, Hanged for Murder and Croke Park: A History. 
Dublin Since 1922 has been shortlisted for a Bord Gáis Energy Irish book award. You can vote for Tim's book by clicking here.

Call for Volunteers

Fáilte Isteach are looking for new volunteer tutors. Fáilte Isteach is a project involving volunteer tutors welcoming migrants into their local community through conversational English classes. Volunteers tutors give 2 hours per week. No experience is necessary as all training and ongoing support are provided. 
People who are not attending any other English language or study programmes in Ireland are prioritised. Students work with the tutors in small groups, usually between three and five people.
Conversational classes are held Mondays 5.45pm-7.45pm at the Café in the Lexicon Library.
