An orchestra made up of 80 children, an incredible children's circus cabaret, circus workshops to help you hone your own skills, yoga storytime, storytelling from a Mrs Twit, a cheeky mime artist called Marcel as well as the CBI book doctors who will help you find your next book, all this and art and craft workshops. There is so much to choose from at the next LexIcon Family Day! No booking required, first come, first served for all events.

Carnegie Cinema Club

Blackrock library's first ever film club kicks off tonight at 6pm.
There is an exciting and interesting programme lined up for January-June titled: 'Heroines, Heroes, Villains and Lost Souls'
Tonight's film, Snap is hard hitting look at the context for abuse and neglect in society. We will lighten the mood next month, a romantic comedy is lined up for 9th February!

MABS talk and advice

Sort your money budget concerns out with expert help from MABS with this free talk. MABS will be bringing budgeting packs along for all. Free, confidential and independent advice. All welcome.

Sarah Webb's News

dlr Writer in Residence, Sarah Webb, has a busy schedule coming up from January to March 2016. With events for children, adults and schools, children's book and writing clubs, teen creative sessions, drop in writing clinics for children, teenagers and adults, as well as curating the children's and schools section of the Mountains to Sea festival, we don't know how Sarah fits it all in! You can also see Sarah writing in her residency room on level 5, dlr LexIcon. Got a question? Pop it on her noticeboard: 'Ask Sarah' on level 4, and Sarah will get back to you. Look out for Sarah's books of the month recommendations, with suggestions for all ages.

Cabinteely Library: Temporary closure

Cabinteely Library will be closed from Friday 20 January 2017 to Monday 23 January inclusive due to minor works. (Please note that Deansgrange Library will be open on this date.)

The library will re-open on Tuesday 24 January 2017 as scheduled.

Strolling through Ulysses

Studio Theatre, dlr LexIcon Tuesday 2 February, 7.00pm. Tickets €10

Written and performed by Robert Gogan, Strolling Through Ulysses guides you through the curious events and quirky characters of Ulysses, in a humorous, entertaining and informative manner, – without compromising the integrity of the great book. Joyce, speaking about Ulysses once famously declared, ‘there is not one serious line in it.’ Strolling Through Ulysses, certainly proves that. Bawdy, irreverent and great fun!
