      A New Beginning

Last Tuesday I was heading out to take Rugby for his walk, and I noticed some of my neighbors had already taken their garbage cans to the curb.  "Funny," I thought.  "The garbage truck doesn't come for three more days."  It eventually dawned on me that it was Thursday, not Tuesday.

The days and weeks are weaving in and out of each other at a methodical pace, and I have created my own daily structure to keep me from whittling the time away.  Apparently, it is speeding ahead of me regardless of my attempt to contain it!

With the new government guidelines, we are encouraged to make tentative plans to regain some order into our lives again.  A "reboot", if you will.  With the acknowledgement that some of us will never return to "normal" due to health or economic tragedies, I do feel some weight lifted from our collective shoulders as we begin to crack open our front doors again for a peek outside.

Classes at Beech Tree Studio will resume mid July if all goes according to plan, but we will see some changes as we begin again.  Here's what you can expect-
  • New venue for Geneva AM and Afternoon classes- Eagle Brook Country Club, Geneva
  • Limited participants- for now, only 9 artisits per class
  • No make ups- because of class size restrictions, we cannot allow more than 9 in the room (instructor makes 10)
  • Artists will be safely spaced apart
  • Face masks required, at least for now
  • All equipment will be sanitized, including lights and pencil sharpeners
If for some reason you are not able to join us in the studio this summer, or just can't wait any longer to hang out with your fellow colored pencil buddies, I have some GOOD NEWS!  We can still stay connected through our new online gathering place, Beech Tree Studio Community.

Kick start your creative genius in colored pencil art.

It is an organic work in progress fueled by YOUR input and ideas. Check it out and then join the discussion!

Thanks so much for being patient as we all work together to move forward safely, responsibly and with the sun on our faces once again.
