This Never Happens...
I still can’t believe it! The Christmas decorations have been up for weeks, the gifts are bought AND wrapped, and the cards have been sent, all with plenty of time to spare! This is NOT TYPICAL!!
Our family made some intentional changes this year which has allowed us the time to actually savor more of this glorious holiday season. We eliminated some of the chaos to make room for the things that matter to us more.
I’m determined to employ this line of thinking into my studio practice. I have PILES of art supplies that I have not yet experimented with. Do you, too? Reading about new products or watching YouTube videos of clever colored pencil techniques is great, but unless you actually try the process, you’re just gathering information. Where’s the fun in that?!
I am a true believer that if you have been blessed with a creative talent, you are meant to use it! If someone gave you a present that you treasured, you wouldn’t just put it in a closet and never open it up, would you?

Most of us would agree that time is one of the greatest gifts of all. I hope that you will “gift” yourself this coming year with the resolve to carve out some hours to finish up a drawing you started months ago, examine the qualities of a new brand of colored pencil or just play around with a combination of mediums. Have fun with it!
