Dear WEMCO Members, Partners and Friends
I hope this newsletter finds everyone off to a great start in 2017.  With all of the changes that are occurring in our country, I believe that we should all have a very good 2017 and beyond.
I want to, personally, welcome all WEMCO Members attending the upcoming 2017 Annual Meeting in Coronado, California, from Feb. 22-24th. The WEMCO Program Committee, under the leadership of Steve Fyffe, has done an amazing job again this year lining up great speakers: David Levine, Airgas, B. Larry Lawrence, Ph.D. and our special guest speaker from the U.S. Marine Corps. John Jones, Workshop for Warriors.
Once again, WEMCO Program Manager, Keila DeMoraes has done an outstanding job contracting with another Loews’ resort as well as managing the logistics of all meetings, speakers’ sessions and social events.
As I come to the end of my two-year term as Chair of the WEMCO Executive Committee, I want to thank the folks at AWS for their support as well as the WEMCO Executive Committee and Members. From Ray Shook to Cassie Burrell and Keila DeMoraes, they are all very supportive of WEMCO, and what we bring to AWS and the welding industry. It’s been a fun and rewarding two years working with the Executive Committee. Its members are true professionals and leaders. We are in good hands as I pass the baton on to Eric Laubach for his term as WEMCO Chair.
I also want to pass along that on Jan 5th, I was promoted to a new position within the 3M Personal Safety Division.  This new position will take me out of the welding market and away from WEMCO.
If you are attending the Annual Meeting, I look forward to seeing you there!
And to all of you: it’s been a fun 13 years working with everyone from the industry. I’ve been honored and blessed to have made life-long friendships over the years.  I’m not saying goodbye as we all know that the welding market is like a vortex, you try to get out but end up getting sucked right back in.  So I’ll just say for now: “I’ll see you soon!”
