Get to Know Us

When participants come to MEMF, they probably don’t give much thought to the fact that there are enough chairs and music stands in the rooms assigned for workshop classes and that the concert hall is ready for each performance. Cody Perk and our team of MEMF Student Assistant Facilities Managers work alongside MEMF Facilities Director Joe Greer to make sure these small details are covered and the Festival runs smoothly. Cody has been has held this position since 2011.

Cody, who sings baritone, has also been an enthusiastic participant in the Festival since 2010 and thinks it is a very special opportunity.

“I think there’s something great about combining the Midwest’s strong musical and choral tradition with early music,” he says, adding that the concerts feature “top notch programming full of novelty and hidden gems.”

Cody teaches English in Prague and sings in a handful of choirs for Gregorian chant, polyphony, and Byzantine liturgical music. He looks forward to returning to Madison each year for the Festival.
