Concert Series Spotlight:
Sonnets 400

Sonnets 400, a program created to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the 1609 publication of the greatest sonnet sequence in the English language, presents forty of Shakespeare's finest sonnets for recital, interspersing the passionate and glorious verses read by Michael Herold, actor, with selections from Anthony Holborne's beautiful music, played by Grant Herreid and Charles Weaver, lutenists, and Priscilla Herreid, recorder.

Get to Know Us

As mentioned above, Michael Herold will join us at MEMF 2016 for a reading of Shakepeare's finest sonnets during Sonnets 400. Michael won silver for Madison's Favorite Actor in the 2016 Best of Madison readers' poll:

What I look for in characters is getting to the essence of what makes them tick, how they see the world … Even if I play the same character more than once—which I... have [done] with several Shakespeare characters—when you’re in a different cast, your character becomes a different person.
