In the United States, we are accustomed to thinking of draft animals as relics of the pre-combustion-engine past or, at historic sites like Colonial Williamsburg, as nostalgic attractions. But draft animals remain ubiquitous in other parts of the world as central participants in food economies, both as food products themselves and as power to move agricultural products from fields to markets. Read more.

FoodBytes! logo
Rabobank’s pitch competition-meets-networking event, FoodBytes!, is making its Texas debut in September. Food, food tech and agtech startups from around the world are encouraged to apply to pitch to hundreds of executives, investors and industry leaders on Tuesday, September 26, at Brazos Hall.

FoodBytes! will select 10 companies to give 3.5-minute pitches and 10 companies to give 60-second pitches. Since FoodBytes! launched in February 2015, more than 1,400 companies from 30 countries have applied to pitch to over 2,500 attendees.

Selected pitch companies have the opportunity to:
